About
Rob Bothof (born 1977) works as a creative coder, artist, inventor, engineer, educator and all round technical problem solver. His practice encompasses an exciting blend of artistic, technical, commercial, and non-profit projects at the intersection of art and technology.
Rob is a seasoned programmer, proficient in multiple programming languages, with 20 years of coding experience. Through professional practice and a passion for experimentation, he has developed expertise in interactive media, with particular interests in real-time systems, procedural generation, computer graphics, and audio synthesis.
In addition to digital and media-oriented projects, Rob has more than 10 years of experience in embedded systems design (microcontrollers, firmware, sensors, interfacing, electronics, motion control) acquired through the hands-on development and engineering of audiovisual installations, musical instruments and special-purpose machinery.
His portfolio spans a broad range of interdisciplinary projects and explorations. Rob enjoys collaborating with a broad network of companies, institutions, designers, artists, architects and musicians.
